I've always been intrigued by the subject of intelligence. As a child my mother would refer to me as "smart," but I quickly noticed that all parents refer to their children as smart. In time I would discover that all children are not smart, just as all babies are not cute. If that were the case, we'd have a world full of beautiful, smart people - which we don't.
Some of us are smart; but not as smart as we think, and others are smarter than they seem, which makes me wonder, how do we define smart? What makes one person smarter than another? When do "street smarts" matter more than "book smarts"? Can you be both smart and stupid? Is being smart more of a direct influence of genetics, or one's environment?
Then there are the issues of education, intelligence and wisdom.
What does it mean to be highly educated? What's the difference between being highly educated and highly intelligent? Does being highly educated automatically make you highly intelligent? Can one be highly intelligent without being highly educated? Do IQs really mean anything? What makes a person wise? Why wisdom is typically associated with old age?
My desire to seek answers to these questions inspired many hours of intense research which included the reading of 6 books, hundreds of research documents, and countless hours on the Internet; which pales in comparison to the lifetime of studies and research that pioneers in the fields of intelligence and education like Howard Gardner, Richard Sternberg, Linda S. Gottfredson, Thomas Sowell, Alfie Kohn, and Diane F. Halpern whose work is cited in this article.

Experience is the greatest teacher
You've heard the phrase, Experience is the greatest teacher. . . Knowledge that is based on one's own practical experience will likely be more instrumental to achieving one's goals than will be knowledge that is based on someone else experience, or that is overly generic and abstract. Being both smart and stupid.

Choose the career path
I think career education plays an important role here and it is normally provided to high school students particularly in their junior as well as senior years. This enables them to choose the career path they would like to take after graduation. Now a days several educational institutes are introducing various career oriented courses. Education is important
Education is important if you want to make a good career; some jobs demand high qualification and skills. So you need to train yourself properly. But not only for high profile jobs, but for even other jobs also you need to learn the basic skills. Such as for driving special vehicles like truck you need to go through training at institutes like Phoenix CDL.

Just having a high IQ level is not all. You need to put your intelligence to good use. Education is that thing that helps you utilize it in a way that is going to benefit you hugely. Online education could help you in many ways; doing a high level course like online masters of public health could boost your career immensely.

For special careers one needs to have special degrees. Online education is now accessible. My friend always aimed to be a nurse. So she decided to do higher studies in nursing. So she went with her plan and she recently completed master in science of nursing online degree.

If you have high education
If you have high education, you would get a desired job. But since now there are so many specialized jobs, a simple degree will put suffice. Your education needs to be specialized too. Be it management, medical or some other field; you need to have high degree required for that field such as public safety degree.

To get a high salary job, you need to be book smart. Your street smartness would not get you a good job. A high level degree is important for your career. So you should not be satisfied with completing only graduation. Masters degree sometimes becomes the primary requirement for a high profile job. In the legal field for example having an online criminal justice masters degree is essential.
