Dual diagnosis, the term is used to describe the comorbid condition of a person considered to be suffering from a mental illness and a substance abuse problem. These rehab centers help people many ways they not only try to help the addict but also his family; there are different kinds of treatment out there, such as 12 step treatment and non 12 step treatment. In a 12 step treatment experts try to help addicts to quit drugs and alcohol by psychoanalytic counseling and by some medicines like methadone and all. But a non 12 step treatment is pretty different as in it, a patient has to stay for 30-40-90 days in the rehab center and after getting totally cured by counseling, psychoanalysis, medicines they come back to the normal flow of life. During this kind of treatments addicts realize that the poison took many precious things from them and ultimately will lead them to death.
